This page explains how money moves through Taack — what patrons pay at checkout, what organizers receive, and when payouts arrive.

Processing fees

The fee applies once per checkout order, not per individual ticket.

Who pays the fee

When creating a paid ticket, organizers choose one of three fee structures:

Absorb fees

Patrons pay the listed ticket price. The full processing fee is deducted from the organizer’s revenue. Example: A 100TTDticketwithabsorbfeespatronpays100 TTD ticket with absorb fees → patron pays 100, organizer receives $100 minus the fee.

Split 50/50

The processing fee is split evenly between the organizer and the patron. Example: On a $100 TTD ticket, half the percentage fee and half the flat fee are added to the patron’s checkout total; the other half comes from organizer revenue.

Pass on fees

Patrons pay the listed price plus the full processing fee at checkout. Example: A 100TTDticketwithpassonfeespatronpays100 TTD ticket with pass on fees → patron pays 100 plus the full 7% + $1.80 TTD fee.
Free events never incur fees, so they’re a good fit for RSVPs and guest-list management.

Payment plans

Tickets bought on a payment plan cost the patron exactly the same as paying in full — the ticket’s fee structure applies once and is spread across the payments. Organizer payouts are also identical to a pay-in-full sale; Taack absorbs the extra per-transaction costs of splitting a payment. If a plan is cancelled under a refund policy, processing fees are non-refundable and the refund reaches the patron’s original card within 5–10 business days.

Supported currencies

Organizers can price tickets in:
  • TTD — Trinidad and Tobago dollars
  • JMD — Jamaican dollars
  • USD — US dollars
The first ticket on an event sets the currency for all ticket types on that event. Patrons buying JMD or USD tickets see a TTD equivalent at checkout for reference. Organizer payouts are processed in TTD, with foreign currency sales converted at Taack’s exchange rates.

Payment processing

Taack uses First Atlantic Commerce through PowerTranz for secure card processing, including 3D Secure authentication. Taack accepts Visa Debits, Visa, and Mastercard. Visa Debit is supported for Caribbean payments where credit cards are less common. Patrons can save cards to their account for faster future checkout.

Checkout flow

  1. Patron selects tickets and proceeds to checkout
  2. Taack creates a pending purchase with a time limit
  3. Patron enters or selects a payment method
  4. Card is tokenized and authenticated (3DS when required)
  5. Payment is captured and tickets are issued
  6. For request-only tickets, payment is authorized but captured only after organizer approval
If checkout expires before payment completes, the patron must start again.

Organizer payouts

Online card sales accumulate as online earnings on each event. After the event ends:
  1. Eligible earnings are batched into a payout
  2. Funds transfer to the organizer’s verified bank account
  3. Payouts typically arrive within three business days
Payout amount = ticket revenue − organizer’s share of processing fees − organizer’s share of the flat fee. Manual sales (cash or bank transfer recorded in the dashboard) are not included in payouts — the organizer already collected those funds directly.

Refunds and transfers

Per Taack’s Terms of Service and Merchant Agreement:
  • Refunds are handled by the event organizer, except when an event is cancelled
  • Organizers may offer coupons or alternative arrangements
  • Ticket transfers are supported on the platform — patrons can transfer tickets to someone else when the feature is available
Contact the event organizer for refund requests on a specific event.
