On event day, use Taack to check in patrons as they arrive. Each confirmed ticket has a unique QR code — scanning it marks the patron as checked in and helps you track attendance in real time.

Choose a scanning method

Taack offers two ways to scan tickets:
MethodBest for
Scan with WebQuick setup from your laptop or tablet — no app install needed
Scan with Mobile AppDedicated door staff with phones — works offline-friendly with event codes

Scan with Web

1

Open the scanner

From your event Overview tab, click Scan tickets → Scan with Web. You can also go directly to /dashboard/events/{event-id}/scan.
2

Allow camera access

Your browser asks for camera permission. Grant access to scan QR codes from patron phones or printed tickets.
3

Scan tickets

Point the camera at the patron’s QR code. Taack shows one of three results:
  • Success (green) — patron checked in
  • Already checked in (amber) — this ticket was scanned before
  • Invalid (red) — QR code not recognized for this event
Because you’re signed in as the organizer, the web scanner doesn’t require an event code.

Scan with Mobile App

The Taack scanner app is designed for door staff who aren’t logged into the full dashboard.
1

Generate an event code

From your event Overview, open Scan tickets → Scan with Mobile App. Taack generates a six-digit event code for this event.
2

Share the code with staff

Give the code to your door team. Each person enters it when they open the scanner app.
3

Complete staff profile

Staff enter their name so scan sessions are attributed in your logs.
4

Scan tickets

The app opens a camera scanner. Results match the web scanner — success, duplicate, or invalid.
5

Use the guest list

Staff can open the Guest list bottom sheet to search for a patron by name and check them in manually if they don’t have their QR code handy.
6

End the session

Tap Stop Scanning when the shift ends. You can revoke event codes from the dashboard if needed.

Tips for smooth check-in

Test the scanner with a ticket from your own account before doors open. Confirm the camera works and that test scans appear in your event data.
For large events, assign multiple staff with mobile app codes rather than sharing one web browser session.
If a patron’s phone is dead, use the guest list search to find their name and check them in manually.
