Taack uses a few product-specific terms throughout the app. This page explains them so the rest of the docs — and the dashboard — make sense.

Committee

Your committee is your organizer brand on Taack. It holds your logo, bio, social links, team members, and all the events you run. Each committee has a handle that becomes your public URL:
https://{committee-handle}.taack.app
When you sign up as an organizer, you create a committee during onboarding. You can customize your committee profile anytime from Dashboard → Profile.

Event

An event is a single occasion you’re hosting — a party, concert, conference, or virtual session. Each event has:
  • A public page at taack.app/events/{event-handle}
  • A date and time (start and end)
  • A location (physical address, TBA, or virtual join link)
  • One or more ticket types
  • Optional settings like approval requirements, custom questions, and sponsors
Events can be public (listed on Taack and your committee page) or private (accessible only via direct link).

Tickets

Tickets are the products patrons buy or request. Each ticket type defines:
  • Price (free or paid)
  • Currency (TTD, JMD, or USD)
  • Quantity available
  • Sale start and end times
  • Per-patron limits (minimum and maximum per order)
  • Whether the ticket requires organizer approval
You can group tickets into ticket groups — useful for multi-day festivals or tiered sections on the same event page.

Patron

A patron is someone who buys or requests tickets. Patrons have a profile with their name, contact details, and saved payment methods. Patrons are separate from organizer accounts. The same person can be both an organizer (with a committee) and a patron (with tickets in My Tickets).

Ticket sale and ticket request

When checkout completes successfully, Taack creates a ticket sale — the record that powers the patron’s QR code and your sales reports. If an event or ticket requires approval, the patron submits a ticket request instead. The sale stays in a requested state until you approve or deny it from Ticket Requests.

Fees

Paid tickets include a processing fee of 7% plus $1.80 TTD per order. Free tickets have no fees. When you create a paid ticket, you choose who covers the fee:
OptionWhat it means
Absorb feeThe fee comes out of your ticket revenue. Patrons pay the listed price.
Split 50/50You and the patron each pay half of the fee.
Pass-on feeThe patron pays the listed price plus the full fee.
See Fees and payments for full details.

Payouts

Payouts are transfers of your online earnings to your connected bank account. After your event ends, eligible sales are included in a payout — typically within three business days once your bank details are verified. Manual sales recorded as cash or bank transfer are tracked in your dashboard but are not included in online payouts.

Team members

You can invite people to your committee as members or admins. Team members get access to a limited dashboard where they can help with sales and ticket requests for events they’re assigned to. At the event level, you can assign team members and allocate ticket quantities for attributed sales.

Check-in

At the door, you check in patrons by scanning the QR code on their ticket. Taack tracks each scan so you know who has arrived. You can scan from the web or the Taack scanner mobile app using a six-digit event code.
