# Create an event

> Set up an event page with a flyer, date, location, and discoverability settings.

Every event on Taack gets its own public page where patrons see your flyer, details, and ticket options. Here's how to build one from scratch.

## Start a new event

  <Step title="Open the events list">
    From the dashboard sidebar, go to **Events** and click **Create Event**.

  <Step title="Add your flyer">
    Upload an event flyer. A square image around 1000 × 1000 pixels works best — it appears on your event page, in listings, and when patrons share the link.

  <Step title="Name your event">
    Enter the **event name** and choose a short, unique handle for the event's web address. Pick something memorable that matches how you promote the event.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the date and time">
    Under **Date and Time**, choose a start and end date and time. Patrons see this on the event page and in their ticket wallet after purchase.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a location">
    Under **Location & Access**, toggle between **In person** and **Virtual**.

    **In person**

    * Choose a **Country** (Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, or Barbados), then search for a venue.
    * Tick "location is still to be announced" if you haven't confirmed the address yet.

    **Virtual**

    * Add a **Virtual event link** (Zoom, Google Meet, YouTube, Teams, or any custom link).

  <Step title="Configure attendance and visibility">
    Under **Attendance**:

    * **Attendance requires approval** — turn this on to review each patron before confirming their ticket. Useful for guest-list events.
    * **Event Discoverability** — choose **Public** (visible on Taack and your committee page) or **Private** (accessible only via direct link).

  <Step title="Add optional details">
    Expand **More Options** to fine-tune the event:

    * **Event Description** — rich text for schedules, lineups, or house rules
    * Primary colour picker — sets the accent colour on your event page (defaults to Taack orange)
    * **Set a Call to Action** — the button label patrons see: **Get Tickets**, **RSVP**, **Register Now**, or **Get Listed**

  <Step title="Save and continue">
    Click **Upload Event**. You'll land on your event hub where you can add tickets, invite your team, and publish.

  New events show a reminder that tickets aren't live yet. Add at least one ticket type from the **Tickets** tab before sharing your event.

## Event hub tabs

After creation, manage your event from these tabs:

| Tab                   | Purpose                                                                 |
| --------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Overview**          | Event summary, sales snapshot, and quick actions                        |
| **Tickets**           | Create and manage ticket types                                          |
| **Team**              | Assign committee members and ticket allocations                         |
| **Requests**          | Approve or deny ticket requests (only visible when approval is enabled) |
| **Publish and Share** | Copy your event link, share to social, or embed checkout                |
| **Custom Questions**  | Collect extra info from patrons at checkout                             |
| **Manage Sponsors**   | Add sponsor logos and sections                                          |

## Edit an existing event

Open the event from **Events**, then click **Edit** to update the flyer, date, location, description, or settings. Changes take effect immediately.

<Warning>
  Be careful changing dates or ticket settings after sales have started. Patrons who already purchased won't be notified automatically — communicate major changes to your audience directly.
